Choosing your stay

Which Shankton home is right for you?

Harbour, Tower, or Peninsula — a quick, honest comparison by group size, location, and the kind of trip you're after.

We keep the collection small on purpose — three homes across two coasts, each with a distinct personality. This guide helps you land on the right one in about two minutes. Start with the big fork: an international beach escape in Nicaragua, or a walkable California beach town.

Choose by the trip you want

Shankton Harbour — the explorer's home

The only home in Gigante with its own sea shelf: tide pools, snorkeling, and reef fishing right off your platform. Quieter and more intimate, with a private pool and beach. Best for couples, families, and small groups who want nature and calm over a big scene.

👉 Pick Harbour if you want reef access, snorkeling, and quiet for up to 8. See Harbour →

Shankton Tower — the group house

Four floors of cliff-top living over the Pacific, a cliff-edge pool, private beach, and a rooftop bunk room for the kids. Built for groups and surf crews — sleeps 12 without anyone feeling on top of each other. Positioned above one of the coast's best surf zones.

👉 Pick Tower if you're bringing a crew or big family (up to 12) or planning a surf trip. See Tower → · Surf guide →

Shankton Peninsula — city meets beach

Two rooftop-deck suites on the Belmont Shore peninsula in Long Beach — 50 meters from the sand and a walk to 2nd Street's shops and restaurants. Book one unit for up to 6 or the whole building for 12. Best when you want a US beach town with everything walkable and no international travel.

👉 Pick Peninsula if you want a walkable California beach town, 50m to sand. See Peninsula → · Belmont Shore guide →

Nicaragua or California?

If you want an adventure — surf, reef, jungle trails, fresh seafood, and a real sense of escape — go to Nicaragua and choose between Harbour and Tower (see our getting-there guide). If you want the beach without the passport — walkable, easy, domestic — Peninsula in Long Beach is your home. Either way, you're booking direct with the people who run the houses, at a better rate than the platforms.
